"Former good-time girl Mandy, 63, now a thriller writer, features in a new book on Land Rover written by retired executive Mike Gould.  In it, he writes: ' Both my first wife, Diane, and the former PR for Land Rover, Judy Maiden, went to the same school as Mandy and they recall the day she turned up to her old school, complete with chauffeur-driven Jaguar and fur coat. ' Suitably impressed, the headmistress seized the chance to promote the virtues of hard work and the success it had brought Mandy (pictured in her prime), who was paraded in front of the assembled school.

'Days later, the Profumo scandal broke and everyone knew exactly how the Jaguar and fine clothes had been earned,' notes Gould.  Says Mandy's daughter, Dana: 'She did become an example of hard work - she went on to run restaurants, nightclubs and a clothing factory.  She's now working on her thriller'."
